Our Wyoming Aviation Heritage
Wyoming has a rich and varied aviation history. We are an education and fundraising organization. Wyoming does not yet have an aviation museum representing Wyoming as a whole; we hope to change that!
1960 Cheyenne Airport Terminal
The 1960 airport terminal was closed in 2018 when the Cheyenne Airport opened a new modern terminal to handle the air service needs of the community. This building is an incredible representative of mid-century modern architecture, displaying a hyperbolic paraboloid roof.
Arts and Aviation Center
Our first fundraising effort is the Cheyenne Arts & Aviation Center. Shown here is the concept drawing which includes the original 1960's appearance of the building. The plan is to revive the restaurant (retro aviation theme?) and create an aviation history museum corridor, arts center and maker space, fixed base operator for large charter flights, a venue space for events, and small shops.
Transcontinental Airmail
Many locations in Wyoming were stops on the first transcontinental airmail route. Shown here is a DH-4 in flight.

B-17 Modifications Center
During WWII, Cheyenne was home to the B-17 Modifications center.
